Growth of coconut fiber imports in peru.

The import of coconut fiber between 2012 and 2024 has grown exponentially in Peru, driven mainly by its increasing use as a sustainable agricultural substrate, the expansion of the hashtag#technifiedagroindustry, the substitution of non-renewable materials and the diversification of uses in the green industry. Coconut fiber is widely used as a blueberry substrate.
In the last 10 years Peru has had an exponential growth in the import of coconut fiber. It is imported mainly from India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Vietnam.
The 80,000.00 MT imported equals approximately USD 55,000,000.00 million dollars.
The question is, can we massively plant coconut in Peru to improve our competitiveness?
