Currently, much of the export-oriented agroindustry does not adhere to the principles of the circular economy. They simply dispose of waste from avocados, mangoes, grapes, strawberries, mandarins, etc.
The aim of the circulareconomy is to minimize waste and make efficient use of resources.
There are sustainable ways to manage agroindustrial waste. Such waste contributes to air, soil, and water pollution and generates emissions gases. Additionally, there are concerns about plastics.
Practical solutions like composting and bioenergy can be considered.
We need to start with the education and training of workers, followed by
incentive policies and sustainability certifications for agro-exporters.
